What do you mean what is it like being a teenager? It’s as if only a percentage of humanity goes through being a teenager. Being a teenager is confusing and an emotional roller coaster ride. It is that stage of your life where you think you know everything but in actuality, you don’t know sh*t. It’s that point where you think you know everything there is to know about the world and start to ‘rebel’ against your parents. It is that stage where you try to ‘fit in’ with the trend in hopes of being invited into that popular group. It is that stage where you try hard to be cool and sociable to be in groupies. It is that stage where you start to discover who you are and sometimes even realizing what you want to do with your life. It was that stage in life where you ‘fall in love’ and think that he/she is the one but in reality, most of these relationships fail just a couple of months earlier.
However, I would like to think that I figured early on just exactly who are the people I want to hang out with. I did not become one of those teenagers who try to be somebody else just to hang out with the popular kids. No, I was the opposite. I found my best friends when I was in first year and the last of them we met in third year. We hang out with each other during recess and lunch time, and before and after classes end. I was luck to have found my sisters by heart so early in high school.
I would also like to think that my mindset matured earlier than most because it was when I was a teenager that I realized not to judge a person on the surface but I learned to really try to know them before I decide if they are trustworthy or not. I learned how to be careful with the words you say because you do not know who will stab you in the back. I learned that the reason I disliked some people in school was because I could see a part of me that I hated in those people.
When I was a teenager, I was never a part of the popular group because honestly, I prefer not to even try because their interests are not in line with mine. They gushed about their crushes, boy groups, actors, and models when all I wanted was to watch anime and read books. They like to spend their weekends meeting up and going out while all me and my friends wanted was to meet up, stay at one of our homes then spend the rest of the day cooking, watching movies, talking, and being creative like drawing or writing. I was one of the odd people and I found myself to have been lucky.
Your pain in the ass,

I decided to write my answers here because I wanted to share my thoughts to anyone who’ll stumble upon this. This is also a way for me to try to get myself to write everyday.
